The best movie to watch on St. Patrick's Day is Leprechaun

It's one of those great horror movies that's so awful it's fantastic, and Leprechaun is one of those movies. The storyline is completely off the rails, the acting is over the top, and the visual effects are so awful they're laughable. In spite of this, though, everything comes together in a way that results in an enjoyable and engaging movie. Jennifer Aniston's performance in her first picture is unexpectedly strong, and Warwick Davis is fantastic in the role he plays as the leprechaun. It is highly recommended that you see Leprechaun if you like goofy horror films like those that it is based on. Just don't go into it expecting to be frightened since the chances are far higher that this movie will make you chuckle than scream.

Warwick Davis's portrayal of a vengeful leprechaun has become the stuff of legend. In the film, the leprechaun is convinced that a family has stolen his pot of gold. He sets out to hunt them down, using all of his cunning and strength. Meanwhile, the family is desperately searching for the gold, in an attempt to placate the leprechaun and keep him from harming them. Davis's performance is chilling and unforgettable, making Leprechaun one of the best horror films of all time.

Leprechaun movie plot:

Dan O'Grady goes back to his home in North Dakota in 1983 after visiting his birthplace, Ireland, where he kidnapped a leprechaun and stole his pot of gold. After O'Grady buried the treasure, he found out that the bad leprechaun had followed him home and killed his wife. O'Grady uses a four-leaf clover to stop the leprechaun's magic and put him in a box. He had a stroke before he could set him on fire.

Ten years later, J. D. Redding and his teenage daughter Tory rent the O'Grady farmhouse for the summer. With the aid of contract workers Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their dimwitted friend Ozzie Jones, the farmhouse is being repainted. While scouring the basement, Ozzie overhears the leprechaun's cry for help and misidentifies him as a child. By pulling the four-leaf clover from the box, he unleashes the leprechaun. Ozzie is informed by the leprechaun that he is an Irish cobbler who emigrated to America in quest of his riches. After failing to convince others that he had seen a leprechaun, Ozzie spots a rainbow and follows it in hopes of finding a pot of gold. Alex follows Ozzie out of worry for his well-being. A bag holding 100 gold coins magically appears before Ozzie. After Ozzie examines the gold and mistakenly swallows a coin, they conceal it in an ancient well in an attempt to cure Ozzie's brain.

After a pistol is discovered in the residence, Leprechaun is shot many times. They try to leave once it fails, but the leprechaun has destroyed the truck's engine. The gang is terrorized by the Leprechaun until Ozzie confesses that he and Alex discovered the pot of riches. Tory saves the bag from the well and offers it to the leprechaun. They rush to the hospital, certain that the worst is past. Leprechaun examines his fortune and discovers that he is missing the coin Ozzie ate. He confronts them, believing they have duped him, until Ozzie informs them that O'Grady has suffered a stroke and has been hospitalized. The group diverts the leprechaun's attention by tossing filthy shoes at him, and he is forced to shine them as Tory drives away in her jeep. Tory goes to the home to kill the leprechaun.

The leprechaun terrorizes the gang after smashing the vehicle with the go-kart until Ozzie admits that he and Alex discovered the pot of gold. The bag is retrieved from the well by Tory, who then offers it to the leprechaun. They go to the hospital, certain that the worst is past. The leprechaun realizes that he is missing the last coin that Ozzie ate as he counts his wealth. He threatens them, believing they have duped him, until Ozzie informs them that O'Grady had a stroke and was sent to a nursing facility. By hurling filthy shoes at the leprechaun, the gang diverts his attention, and the leprechaun is forced to go shine the shoes as Tory gets in her jeep and drives off. The leprechaun disguises himself as O'Grady and visits the elderly people in the home. While Tory is fleeing, the leprechaun follows him into an elevator and throws O'Grady's body down the shaft. The farm's late caretaker, O'Grady, forewarns the young woman that the only way to kill the leprechaun is with a four-leaf clover, of which there happens to be a plentiful patch just outside the farm's gates. Tory returns to the farm in search of a four-leafed clover, but the leprechaun assaults her there, forcing Nathan and Ozzie to come to her rescue. When the leprechaun returns to get the remaining gold coin, he is badly injured by Ozzie, who admits eating it. Before the leprechaun can kill Ozzie, Alex takes a four-leaf clover that Tory found, sticks it to a piece of gum, and launches it into the leprechaun's mouth. The leprechaun's skeleton, after tumbling into the well, emerges and demands, "I want my gold." Nathan uses gasoline to set fire to both items after returning the leprechaun to the well. Tory and her father are reconciled, she marries Nathan, and the two have a child when the police arrive. While authorities investigate the debris of the well, the leprechaun vows he would not rest until he recovers every penny of his fortune.
